Diana Piggott
Second Violin
Founding Member
Diana grew up in a music-loving family and so appreciated the great classics from an early age. Playing came later, and she is eternally grateful to the North York public school system for teaching her how to play the violin in high school music classes. From there, she graduated to playing in the North York Symphony, and after moving to Calgary, played for a few years with the U of C orchestra. Since then, she has played a lot of chamber music and has been singing in the Christ Church Choir since 1980. She has enjoyed collaborating with Carlos Foggin in several ensembles, culminating in the formation of the Rocky Mountain Symphony. Diana also has an M.Sc. in physics, taught for many years at the U of C in the undergraduate physics labs, and enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
