Kaj Morawski is a Calgary-based musician and teacher who received his Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Calgary and Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. In addition to his role as assistant principal clarinet of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, he performs in a variety of local ensembles including the brand-new Alberta Clarinet Choir, as well as Alberta Winds – where he has spent 6 years on the board of directors and is currently the vice president. In 2024, he was invited to join the Associação Filarmónica Portuguesa de Calgary on their tour to Portugal. A Calgary Board of Education music teacher for the past 7 years and an avid cyclist, Kaj now shares his love of music as the band teacher at Vincent Massey Junior High School and often bikes to work. As one of the founding musicians of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, Kaj is looking forward to the celebratory 10th anniversary season and is particularly excited to perform one of the most iconic pieces of music in the clarinet repertoire: Rhapsody in Blue.
