Kristin Stearn

Kristin Stearn has been immersed in music for as long as she can remember. A Calgary native, she went on to study at the University of Victoria, earning a Bachelor of Music in Performance with a major in French horn and a minor in Voice, followed by a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Instrumental Music. She recently completed her Master’s in Educational Studies at the University of Alberta, with a focus on educational leadership and advocacy for music education in Alberta. 

Alongside her career as an educator, Kristin has maintained an active performing career, performing with ensembles throughout British Columbia and Alberta, including the Victoria Symphony, Vancouver Island Symphony, Kelowna Symphony, Altius Brass, and the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra.

A passionate advocate for music education, Kristin has shared her expertise as a guest speaker at provincial conferences, including the Alberta Band Summit and the BC Music Educators’ Conference. She currently serves as a Professional Development Team Lead for Music Education within her school division, supporting fellow educators and helping advance music education practices.

When she’s not teaching or making music, Kristin enjoys a great cup of coffee, watching the sunrise from her country home, and making memories with her family and pets.
