Ross Lemon

Originally from The Pas, Manitoba, Ross Lemon began studying Double Bass at age 12 in Calgary under Terry McCarthy. He continued at the Mount Royal Conservatory (now MRU Conservatory) with Sheila Garrett, former Assistant Principal Bass of the Calgary Philharmonic, from 1995–2000. At 14, Ross joined the Calgary Civic Symphony, sparking a lifelong passion for orchestral music. He won multiple Kiwanis competitions and participated in masterclasses with Gary Karr, John Clayton, Lawrence Hurst, and Edgar Meyer. As Principal Bass of the Calgary Youth Orchestra (1994–2000), he toured internationally and performed under renowned conductors including Bramwell Tovey, Hans Graf, and Pinchas Zukerman. Ross has performed with orchestras across Canada including the Calgary Philharmonic, Edmonton Symphony, and Symphony of the Kootenays, as well as the Manila Symphony Orchestra. A co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, he currently serves as its Principal Bass alongside roles with the Calgary Civic Symphony and Symphony of the Kootenays. Outside music, Ross is an avid PC gamer and amateur foodie.
