Celebrating Excellence: RMSO Named Community Ensemble of the Year 2024

We are grateful!

After an incredible weekend, we’re excited to share that the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra kicked off the 2024/25 season with an unforgettable Symphonic Legends performance and was awarded the 2024 YYC Music Award for Community Ensemble of the Year!

We were deeply honoured to be recognized alongside such esteemed nominees, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all those whose valuable contributions to the arts community in Calgary were so deservingly recognized.

This award celebrates the heart of the RMSO—our passionate musicians. Their dedication and talent create the unforgettable experiences our audiences love. To our conductor, Carlos Foggin, we congratulate you for all the hard work and commitment to the orchestra. Your contribution has been instrumental in making us the recipient of the award in 2024.

A huge thank you to our major supporters, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Rocky View County, for helping us bring symphonic music to small communities across Alberta.

We are also incredibly grateful to Kim Raffin, the former President of the board, whose unwavering commitment, guidance, and financial support over the years have made it all possible. Thanks to Kim’s vision, our musicians can continue to bring exceptional performances to life.
