Meet the Conductor Behind Strings Attached
One of the most exciting parts of Strings Attached: Rock Choir Meets Symphonic Sound is the person bringing it all together on stage — our conductor, Maria Fuller.
Maria is one of Canada’s most captivating young musical leaders. She works internationally as a conductor, trumpeter, and pianist, and is also an award-winning composer, arranger, and vocal coach. Whether she's leading symphonic, operatic, or ballet repertoire — or creating fresh, cinematic music with a “new baroque” twist. Maria brings clarity, energy, and imagination to everything she touches.
She is currently Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège in Belgium and the Founding Music Director of Calgary’s Ammolite Opera, which has already received four Betty Mitchell Award nominations in just two years. This season marks Maria's debut with the Rocky Mountain Symphony, and we're thrilled to welcome her to the podium.
For Strings Attached, Maria's role goes far beyond keeping time. Through her direction, the orchestra becomes a partner in sound responding to the choir and the energy in the room. The result is a performance that feels immediate, powerful, and shared.
This is not a concert where you need to “know” classical music to feel welcome. If you love live music, big voices, and the energy of a rock concert — paired with the depth and richness of a full symphony orchestra — Strings Attached is for you.
Good experiences are always better when they're shared. Bring family, friends, neighbours — anyone who wants a fun, energizing evening of live music.
