Strauss Meets Star Wars – RMSO Season 10 Opens!

The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to open our 10th Anniversary Season with Strauss Wars: The Waltz Strikes Back – a concert that pairs timeless classics with music from a galaxy far, far away.

Guest conductor Gareth Jones leads the orchestra through a program that showcases the sweeping elegance, sparkling energy, and cinematic drama that makes live orchestra music unforgettable.

The versatile and accomplished conductor Gareth Jones serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary, leading the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Brass Choir, while also directing the renowned Alberta Winds. A respected mentor and adjudicator, Gareth has led ensembles across North America, appeared on Juno-nominated recordings, and contributed to the Royal Conservatory of Music trumpet syllabus.
